What are lip fillers?

Lip fillers are injections that add volume to your lips. They're a type of dermal filler. Lip fillers consist of synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) — HA is a natural substance in your body. There are many different brands of lip fillers, including Juvederm®, Restylane® and Perlane.

Benefits of Lip Fillers:

Today it is possible to completely change the shape and size of your lips with the help of a treatment that uses lip injections containing lip fillers. The cosmetic procedure gives you an improved lip structure and redefines the mouth contours.

One of the biggest advantages of a lip injection procedure is that you get instant results and can enjoy complete control over the extent to which you wish to change the appearance of your lips.

With hyaluronic acid lip injections like Juvederm, no artificial chemical is injected into the lips as the natural tissues of the body are used for plumping up the lips of the patient. This is one of the safest techniques for lip augmentation since there are very few chances of the patient experiencing an allergic reaction vis-à-vis their own natural body tissues.

Lip injections have numerous benefits and are highly recommended for those who struggle with wrinkles and fine lines in the mouth area, have thin and poorly shaped lips, or desire fuller lips and a better smile in general.

Some of the key benefits of lip injections include the following:

  • Improved appearance

It is obvious that the primary benefit of a lip enhancement procedure through lip injections is an improvement in your overall appearance. With fuller lips, you are likely to look younger and this can ultimately boost your self-esteem in social and professional setups.

  • Naturally fuller lips

Products such as Juvederm fillers are excellent at achieving an extremely natural look since they contain hyaluronic acid. As mentioned earlier, this is a substance that is naturally present in your body and prevents the occurrence of bruising during the procedure. There is a natural absorption of the filler in the body and the fullness of the lips can be maintained with replacement after approximately every 6 months.

  • Treats aging signs

Lip injections have an additional benefit for those who wish to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines that develop in the mouth area due to factors like smoking and natural aging.

With lip injections, you have naturally fuller lips and this fullness helps tighten the skin around your lips. Hence, your mouth looks firmer and more youthful because wrinkles and fines lines are reduced.

There are numerous smokers who end up developing severe wrinkles in the mouth area over a period of time. Poor circulation in the area leads to premature aging and the early appearance of wrinkles. Lip injections with fillers are an effective solution for minimizing these wrinkles.

  • Minimal side effects

Cosmetologists inform that hyaluronic acid fillers rarely cause any side effects and/or allergic reactions in patients. However, it is critical for a candidate to disclose any existing allergies and medications during the initial appointment with the clinician. This will help select the right filler for their specific needs. In case there is a possibility of a candidate being allergic to specific filler ingredients, the clinician may carry out a minor test for checking the response of the patient to the filler.

How Do IV Drips Work?

An IV fluid drip involves a small tube called a catheter and a saline-based electrolyte solution that contains your selected vitamins and nutrients. An IV drip delivers these essential nutrients and fluids directly into your bloodstream, bypassing your digestive tract. There’s no wait time, and the nutrition is instantly available to remedy your body’s health and wellness needs.

What Goes into an IV?

Some IV drips contain electrolytes and salts, while others contain sugars, vitamins, and antioxidants. Each concoction differs depending on the health and wellness needs of each patient.

The most common ingredients that go into IVs include:

  • Saline. This a solution of salt in water and is the most common type of fluid for IVs. A Saline solution is great for dehydration and hangovers since sodium is a type of electrolyte.

  • Vitamins. The benefits of vitamins and antioxidants are essential, as they can give us a boost of energy, strengthen our immune system, plus so much more.

  • Electrolytes. These essential elements and compounds hydrate our bodies, regulate nerve and muscle function, regulate blood pressure, and more. Besides sodium, your body needs potassium, calcium, bicarbonate, magnesium, chloride and phosphate — all of which are electrolytes.

Is IV Therapy Safe?

Yes, IV therapy is very safe. All of our vitamins are FDA-approved and go through high levels of testing before they’re made available to our clients. All IV drips are administered by a registered nurse and with guidance from our medical director. Before any client receives IV therapy, we evaluate their health history.

Side effects from an IV drip are generally non-existent or very mild. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of injection, and this could last from a few minutes to several days. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare.

How Often Should I Get an IV Drip?

We recommend our clients receive for IV therapy 1-2 times a month. We take a customized approach to suit your individual needs. For preventative health and wellness, we recommend two IV drips per month, as this helps balance out any vitamin deficiencies.
